Fun Stuff!
A Short Introduction ...Hi there, My name is Gergana and a very few people in Canada and USA can pronance it. Nevertheless, it is always fun and a laugh to hear new versions of my name. I'm a seventeen year old from Bulgaria. My love and passion for tennis brought me all the way to Canada and USA. I left my family and home at age fifteen, in search for better tennis and opportunities. To make it more clear, I have to make a confession: When I was training in Bulgaria, indoor tennis was not always available, so if I missed a day of playing tennis, because of rain, I use to cry. Tennis lesson canselation sounded like a major disaster in my life. It made my family laugh sometimes but it also made them wonder what to do to help me. So there.....Vancouver, BC, Canada, where my aunt and uncle live, became my new home. On my behalf, that was a major step as well as a major sacrifice, considering how close I was and I am with my family. I am very grateful for that opportunity. I moved to Canada in the middle of grade 8 in Bulgaria. I only new a few words in English and I was placed in grade 9 - middle of grade 9 to be more precise. I had to learn fast, very fast. I finished grade 10 with honor roll, I became number 1 junior in tennis for British Columbia, number 6 in the Pacific Northwest Division, I won an MVP ward and I was very fortunate to become a Canadian Resident. There is a lot to be proud of myself for and a lot to be gratefull for. Realizing that tennis in USA is at a higher level, my aunt and uncle sent me to the Weil Tennis Academy where I currently reside and train. I love the game of tennis and I strive to succeed and perform to the best of my abilities on every level.
My Goal: To play on Division I Tennis Team in the United States. I'm looking for a school that will provide me with strong academics and a high level tennis. I'm currently training about 32 hours a week at the Weil Tennis Academy and playing tournaments during the weekends. I am taking high school program on-line and have no problem combining a rigorous training schedule with academics. I hope to receive University Athletic Scholarship which will allow me to reach new hights in tennis and academics. Please feel free to contact me should you have any particular questions. I will be more than happy to provide you with further details. Best Regards, Gergana :) |
